I try not to be, but I have become one of those Mommies who worries that Miss Mia may not be developing as quickly as she should. I promised myself I wouldn't be like that - and I should have known better.
I have been blessed to have a great group of friends all having had babies around the same age as Miss Mia. Mom has some coworkers that also have babies within a few months of our little gal as well.
A few months ago, when Miss Mia started drooling rivers, we thought we would be celebrating the arrival of some teeth. This did not happen.
When my friends' babies, who are a few months younger, started sprouting teeth, we thought we'd certainly be seeing some teeth make an appearance. Again, this did not happen.
My dentist assured me that, the later the teeth's arrival, the less likely Miss Mia will need braces when she's older.
Miss Mia has been suffering the arrival of teeth for awhile now. Two weeks ago, when we went swimming, we were able to celebrate the arrival of the first tooth.
Now, we're playing hide-n-seek with the second tooth. Last Thursday, it was there, the next day, it wasn't. Her gums will swell, hiding her tooth. Then, the swelling will go down, and the new tooth will be visible again.
Unfortunately, this means lots of periods of crying without end due to Miss Mia being miserable. I feel so bad. I just cuddle my little nina to me and give her all the kisses and hugs I can. I hope my loving her will help lessen the pain a little. I always know when she's most miserable as she'll get a fever of around 102 that will leave just as quickly as it arrived!
Let's just hope it's these first two teeth that are causing all of the problems and the rest will just show up without needing the massive amount of fanfare as these first two have needed!!!!

Happy Easter!
I had one fancy outfit left that my wonderful friends had given me for a shower gift when I found out I was having a girl. This dress was a cute 6-9 month sage green dress that I knew would be perfect for Easter.
Miss Mia is a little on the small side, so the 6-9 month dress is a smidge large on her, and the bloomers were falling off. BUT . . . . we persevered and were able to have a nice photo shoot where I snapped some adorable Easter pictures.
I emailed the pics to some of my friends at work, and was asked where I've been getting them done. My one friend, Suzan, thought I was joking when I said I'd snapped them in my living room with the morning sun bouncing off the white duvet I had hanging up. That made me feel good - knowing that something I love to do seems to be "quality" type work :)
So, here there are - and Happy Easter!

Lifestyle Change
Okay, so I've been using the new meds for close to a month now. We were pretty much certain that, by now, I would be well on my way to losing weight (or being pregnant).
Unfortunately, my period made its appearance last week and I've actually gained a pound since starting the meds.
Tonight is one of my nights where the frustration is getting to me. I have been faithfully doing my workouts and have been doing research on a GI Diet. From the research I've been doing, I have already been following the GI Diet, although not as faithfully as I should.
Again, if I'm staying away from the sweets, the caffeine, the sodas, etc and working out, why can I not see a single pound erased off of the scale?
There is also a new wave of pregnancy amongst friends and co-workers. I am so, so blessed to have Miss Mia, and I know this. At the same time, my heart wants nothing more than another baby (or two) to love. I also remember growing up with my brother and all of my cousins and feel as though Miss Mia will miss out on all of that because my body is so messed up. Not only am I failing my heart, I'm failing my daughter.
I will sit back and look at the positives - I have a great and wonderful daughter. I am, with my GI Diet, creating a healthier lifestyle in my family (and no, I won't feel guilty that my daughter will not be raised on fast food and sodas . . . . I wasn't and I don't regret my childhood).
Now, I must go . . . someone is up and hungry.

Amelia Takes Over Blogging . . .
Mommy seems a little more frazzled lately, especially now that I've gotten this new trick down - the one where I stand by myself without needing anything around to pull myself up! She said she needs to get superglue for my footsies . . .
Mommy said drinking juice will make me feel better, but she never told me how much . . .
Busy Weekend
Two weekends ago, we had a busy weekend.
Saturday, Steve, Miss Mia and I went to my friend's house. Tiff has a little boy 6 weeks younger than Miss Mia. We had such a nice evening. The babies enjoyed crawling all over the floor - Miss Mia loved making Mommy and Daddy race after her as she booked to the electric outlets.
Later in the evening, we played some Wii. How much fun is that!?! If only they weren't so expensive!
Then, Sunday afternoon, we dodged the icky sleet and went swimming. It was so nice being in the warm pool room as the rain/sleet/snow mix fell outside. What was even nicer was that we had the pool to ourselves. We are so fortunate to have such great employers! Miss Mia was a little cranky prior to us going, so I didn't know how she'd react. I should not have worried - she had a blast. She especially loved being on the side of the pool and making splashies!
