THE BIG NEWS

So, I didn't fall off the face of the earth. Yes, it may have appeared that way after I blogged at least weekly to not blogging for almost 6 months.

SIGH.

I'm lazy.

Oh wait, no I'm not . . . I'm PREGNANT!

That's right! One round of Clomid and DING! Baby Dust! I'm having a little girl. We just found out that news about two weeks ago!

So, that first trimester, I was beyond tired. I was actually going to bed before Miss Mia! How sad is that? Thank goodness for DH And the rest of the fam for watching my little one so I could get the sleep I needed. Then, when the energy finally came back, we had a stretch of nice weather, so we've been outside every evening, working in the yard and trying to get some order to the flower beds prior to me getting so large I can't move!

We had Miss Mia plant Zukes and sunflowers in Goobie's garden. Then, we made a raised bed up here and she planted pumpkins. I cannot wait for her to see what comes from all of the work we did this spring!

But - back to the news! I am beyond excited to be pregant AND to be having another girl. Miss Mia pats my belly every night and says "bebe" (sounds like french for baby, my girl is so smart!). Then, she kisses the bump each night when she gets ready for bed. SIGH. SO CUTE.

I'm afraid of the jealousy situation, but we'll deal. With all of the other babies being born right now in this family, Miss Mia is getting to understand babies quite well!

AGAIN - I'm PREGNANT with a little GIRL! YAH!

WOO WOO Number 2!

My little Miss Mia is now 2!

She runs everywhere!

She jumps on the trampoline every day!

She loves playing with Tia.

She went to the Erie Zoo and then to Presque Isle with Mommy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa as well as Tia and Maxine.

She weighs 23 pounds, putting her in the 10th percentile and is 38 inches tall (in the 75th percentile!).

She loves learning new words and surprises us daily with a new word or two she has picked up!

Most of all, she is the center of her Mommy's universe!

Pillow Fight!

I found some material that was way too fun to pass up.

So, I decided to buy it - and use it in my pillowcase making quest.

Look at these pillowcases! I just wish I would've bought more of the material because they make me smile each time I see them!

Thankful Thursday

I have so much to be thankful for - it's been really hard to narrow it down to one specific topic to mention this Thursday.

I had a lot of different, special reasons. BUT - I'm going with this:

I'm thankful for having electricity and the ability to get out of our driveway. In that same vein, I'm thankful to have a job where, should I need to work at home, I'm able to do so! Today, I was already scheduled to work at home, so I didn't need to worry, but I know of others who ended up working from home today, when they were scheduled to be in the office.

To give a little history, last Friday, our area got hit with a storm. We received around 12 inches of snow from the storm that started around 3pm Friday and lasted until 9:30am Saturday. Unfortunately, places south and east of here were hit even harder. Pittsburgh (we'll only discuss local town, although DC was hit even harder) received anywhere from 16 to 28 inches. The schools haven't bothered to open and much of the city is still shut down. Many, many homes are still without electricity - again, since Friday.

Then, last night into today, we received another blast. This time, we only received 6 inches or so, but on top of what we currently have, it just created a mess.

I'm so thankful to have electric and be sitting in front of our toasty warm fireplace. And, although I'll whine and complain, I'm glad that I have the chance (and ability) to drive in to work!

Oh heck, let me also add - I'm thankful we've had such a great snowstorm!

Pillowcases!

In honor of Russ, I've committed myself to helping ConKerr Cancer with their 1 Million Pillowcase challenge. The homemade cases will be donated to local charities to give a piece of comfort to someone in need.

The great thing - I've already gotten others to help out! I have friends buying material and cutting the fabric for me to sew. I have others making their own versions of the pillows.

How great is that? My friend says I have a talent for my sewing. I'm glad I do have this "talent" so that I can keep Russ' memory alive by helping others in need.
